This option is normally selected in the Preferences Dialog, meaning that the Destination dialog box will appear if you drag and drop a movie file onto the AVI to QuickTime Utility icon. If this option is not selected, the AVI to QuickTime Utility will convert the movie file according to the current settings in the Preferences dialog box.

  5. Holding down the Option key while you drag and drop a movie file causes the utility to override this setting and forces the Destination dialog box to appear. However, the Option key does not change the settings in the Preferences dialog box.
